Tormented by sleeplessness on one hand and by brutal nightmares during his rare, brief moments of rest on the other, he experiences frequent memory lapses that make everyday life nearly impossible. This ultimately leads him to seek psychological treatment.

As the medication begins to take effect over time and family life starts to settle down, the city plunges into a blood-red wave of violence. Every day brings new murders and bloody gang crimes.
